Answers to the questions we are asked most often. If yours is not here, get in touch.
Are your safaris private?
Yes. Every itinerary is private for your group, with your own vehicle and guide, and can start on any date.
Can I change an itinerary on the website?
Absolutely. Our itineraries are starting points: we can add or remove nights, change lodges, add a beach stay or combine countries.
How far in advance should I book?
For July to October and gorilla trekking, six to twelve months ahead is ideal. For other times, two to four months is usually enough, and we can often arrange last-minute trips.
What is the best time to go on safari?
June to October and January to March are the driest months in Kenya and Tanzania. Each destination page has its own best-time advice, and our Best Time to Visit guide explains the seasons.
What vehicles do you use?
In Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda we use 4x4 Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs, charging points and guaranteed window seats. In Ethiopia we use comfortable private vehicles.
Is it safe to travel in East Africa?
Safari areas are well organised and welcoming. You are met on arrival and accompanied by professional guides. We monitor official travel advice and will always tell you if we recommend changes.
Can I travel with children?
Yes — see our family safaris. Some activities have minimum ages, such as 15 for gorilla trekking, and we choose family-friendly lodges.
How do I pay?
We accept bank transfer and card payments. A deposit confirms your booking, with the balance due before travel.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance including medical evacuation is required for all our trips.
How do I contact you during my trip?
You will have 24-hour phone and WhatsApp support from our Nairobi office throughout your journey.
