Kidepo Valley National Park lies in the semi-arid north-east of Uganda, bordering South Sudan and Kenya. Surrounded by mountains, the Narus Valley holds water through the dry season, attracting large herds of buffalo, elephant and zebra, along with lion, cheetah and species found nowhere else in Uganda, such as ostrich, caracal and bat-eared fox.
Its remoteness means very few visitors, and a visit to the Karamojong people, semi-nomadic pastoralists, is a rare cultural encounter.
